see what I mean really cool, but theres a dark underbelly of truth

Before we get into todays topic I want to share a brief story with you.

I want to correct a common misconception. I know we all agree that bushy old man eyebrows are the coolest thing in the world. Oh contrare, those bushy marvels will make you nuts. Each hair has a mind of its own n out for trouble. I mention this because yesterday I had an eyebrow emergency. Midday yesterday I came in from chores/cold n begged Kathy to give me a trim. I just couldn't take the torment any longer, my eyebrows were making me nuts. No cracks from the peanut gallery this is serious. I had an eyebrow emergency, I was on the edge man. Kathy clipped me n all was once again right with the World. I know you are now relieved, crisis averted.

Farrah Fawcett hair, but you know we all can't have show biz hair. you take that picture to your hair stlist n they just nod then you get what you get.
Kathy Glew used to trim poodles for a living, now she trims old man eyebrows???

Being Human. Fake it, Till you make it.

Slippage.
You know how when you're trying to present a normal human to others n bits of crazy seep out.
The people that know me well, just laugh n enjoy the humor.
Though on occasion I've notice a few disappear forever.
To me it's the weeding process of those who should actually be in my world.

Don't get me wrong.
I'm not a person that really needs human friends, I've got my dogs, the horse's n that does me pretty good.
Reality though requires that I interact with Kathy's world n believe you me, I have to tone it down a bit.
I get the shush finger a lot.

Walking around in the real world can be a bit of a juggling act.
How much to let out.
Less is more.
What you don't say has proven more important than what you do.

The other day a guy contacted me wanting to make Pez Outlaw T-shirts.
Contacted Tina.
I guess she has a real life n no time to come out n play.
That just leaves me n my imaginary friends.
We decided it was to soon, maybe later.

That's the problem of living in an alternate universe of Pez Outlaw.
For me everything is Pez Outlaw 24/7/365.
Real people, including Kathy, Josh, n tina have the real world of family, jobs, friends etc.
My world, The Pez Outlaw World does not have these distractions, because Kathy allows me this.
I can focus on my alternate reality as much as I want.
So of course every little nuance of the Pez Outlaw World is Life or death.

What I find is that I'm so tiresome on the subject that it takes a very large rotation of individuals to bore, just to keep up with me.
Each set of ears can only listen for so long before needing a vacation from Pez Outlaw World.
Like West World, you can only play at the park so long before the Robot Cowboy goes rogue.

Some folks withdraw quietly n are rarely heard from over long periods.
Did I somehow scare them?
Is there something frightening about me that I'm totally Oblivious to?
Probably the earlier thought that others are in the real world n Kathy has not carved out a safe area for them to play in.

Every child is born with high hopes.
Anything is possible in the beginning n we all think we are special.
If you have 4 brothers, they tend to help you find reality.

We weren't exactly poor, because dad had a pretty good job working at Fisher Body on the line wet sanding cars.
Though I do remember some pretty long UAW strikes that had us eating big cans of spam n other forms of (not sure it was called welfare food back then) Government food.

When I was very young I wanted to be a lawyer, because being a Cowboy seemed out of reach.
I compromised n became a Hippie.
My early years in grade school were filled with Fighting because I hadn't learned to use my words but I loved to argue.

One punishment for being a disruptive child at school stood out.
The teacher put me in the class closet with the lights out.
To make fun out of it, I catcalled at people who passed by in the hall.

Even though life told me I was not special, I pushed back.
I've always defied the darkness with rage.
You tell me I can't, buddy that was exactly what I was gonna do.
I'll show you, which usually ended bad.

Later in life I learned that out of 1,000 failures can come one success or that you must be willing to hear 1,000 no's for the eventual yes.
I believe my defiance as a child was my training ground for seeking an outside the box path in life.
Every opportunity I had as a child to take the normal path, I would sabotage it, forcing me to take the path nobody else was taking.

This has continued into the rest of my life.
I'm not sure at this point what good it did me but I also know I really didn't have a choice.

By the age of 13 my brain started functioning different than the people around me.
Today they have all kinds of labels for what was going on n medications to help.
At the age of 15 I started self medicating with Alcohol.
At 16 Marijuana, then in rapid succession every other kind of drug I could lay my hands on.

When I reached 20 I met Kathy n finally put all the drugs n alcohol behind me.
What followed were 25 years of mental anguish, frustration and rage???
that's for those who observed to say.

The military diagnosed me schizophrenic with masochistic tendencies.
No treatment, they just booted me.
In a drug rehab program I scared them so much that they booted me to a mental hospital.
Oddly enough the screener at the mental hospital was a druggy.
I spotted it right away, so I walked away.

Within weeks I met Kathy and began my journey of self healing with her help n patience.
Now I am literally her servant, in that the woman deserves some reward for 25+ years work.
I never found Jesus or attended a single AA or other type meeting, we just did it on our own.

Schizophrenic, Bipolar, etc are just words n labels, God knows whats really going on up there.
Some of us out here can't afford or are not capable of seeing Doctors to have our brains fixed or medicated.
Some of us just have to do the best we can n work our way through it.

At the age of 68 I've finally built enough patches n tricks to pass as human.
Yes I'm kinda obsessive compulsive, I think that obsession to detail was born out of necessity.
Yes I'm a hermit in that I don't leave the farm much, again necessity to control my environment n limit input.
I don't talk on telephones, again limiting input. Telephones allow to many people to dump to much unwanted crap into your brain.

Back to the beginning, Every child is born with high hopes.
So is a part of my story a Hollywood movie about Pez Outlaw n my life?
Is this life I've lived worthy of your interest for 90 minutes?
Time will tell. My hope is that the answer is yes.

One of the other reasons that I share my story so openly is.
I know I'm not alone, I know that there are a lot of folks out there who deal with this shit in isolation.
I want you to know that you are not alone.
My advice though is to seek professional help.
Even though I am incapable of it, it is the better way to go.
Don't hide who you are, find a way to embrace the unique you.
You have value, your unique perspective of life has value.

Ok, time to go off the rails.
Rummage around in the clutter up there n pick one up.
Then again possibly something more nuanced.
Yeah right, like that would even be possible.

I will tell you this.
I walk around in my world trying to maintain a presentable human for observers.
The problem with that is.
My version of a presentable human veers off course all by itself.
Add slippage to that n you catch eyeballs.
You know that look or maybe you don't, I guarantee you I do.
I've seen it on the observers face my whole life.

The biggest problem I had when I worked in the shop was that out of anger or whatever, I refuse to play the good ole boy role.
Now days I can slip into it with ease.
My problem is that I get to enjoying the role a bit to much n start improvising.
Improvisation is very fertile ground for slippage.

Example 1.
Geof brings some hay over.
You Bastard, what the hell are you trying to do to me.
Even with the latitude I'm given by Kathy's friends for being, eccentric (inner voice: yeah eccentric, I like that).
People still pause a moment on that type of greeting. Eyeballs.
Then I say 15 or 20 bales, 15 is replied.
What the hell, don't you believe in buying a beer for the other guys? Pause, eyeballs.

Example 2.
Henry, Amish Farrier was here, cutting hooves.
Was talking with him about a somewhat mutual disdain for doctors.
Told him, Doctors just won't follow directions, stay on point.
I will walk out if one tries that Alzheimer quiz on me.
Don't want to know if I have cancer.
Better I fall over one day than go on kimo n become another burden to Kathy.
If I'm not useful to her, I certainly don't want to be a burden.
Kathy from afar, so yeah Henry if one day he falls over............
Poor woman's been tryin to tidy up after me with folks for 45yrs.

Anyway, back to Alzheimer's.
Told Henry, quit drinking 45 years ago, hopin that's my ace in the hole.
Then I got Cocky.
Henry. See to me normal people run smooth.
My brain has so much going on up there that if Alzheimer's fired almost everybody, maybe finally I'd be like other folks.
Pause, Eyeball's.

OOP's, makes you wish you had a safety line on some thoughts so you could yank then back in or at least be able to throw slippage a life-preserver.
Commonly known as "to much" or "did I say that out loud? I thought I was using my inner voice".

People around here accept my off center thinking.
I live in a different yet parallel reality to them.
As long as I'm yammering on about the horse's there eye's are fine, but......

Only Kathy knows it all n she is the only person who has been willing to put up with the real me.
I do not have to present my acceptable human for her.
I also realized recently that it's impossible for me not to tell Kathy everything.
By the way that's fare warning to other folks.

Well Shit, I never planned on that.

With your permission.
I'd like to add.
A little out of the blue.
I'm not anybodies ATM, at least not anymore.
That's one thing I like about being poor, the decisions are made for me.
You want money to do or for anything n Bubba are you talkin to the wrong person.
Also on the advice of you know who, I do not sign anything.
You might not believe it but I do get requests.

I used to be the guy who put $10,000.00 on a desk to watch it swept into a drawer.
No more, you want something from me?
It's my turn to sweep money into my drawer.

OH, What The Hell.

If you slam your gun on the table n it discharges.
Was that you taking your shot?
Is a momentary response your answer?

For depth.

The Softest Sock of 2, goes on the right foot.
I wear 3 pairs of socks one pair over the other every day.
Reason, it feels good.
Left ear socks or socks that ride between toes drive me up a wall.
That ends the daily Sock Report, on to the News.

So the News guy says.
In one word describe so n so.
People almost always use 3 words.

My hope is that the words "Ski Vacation" are code for deal making.
Come February Perceptible movement is revealed.
I'm running out of spit fellas.

Stick your noses out boys n girls.
It's time to get them tweaked.

Gerry, you've done 3.
Do 4 n we get worried.

After 1.5 years working on Cereal Box Price Guide I kinda drifted away.
The Cereal Box Price Guide was done using Pez Outlaw Methods, I make no apologies for that.
The drift from cereal was to Notes From The Asylum.
I guess I just prefer talking.

Today Kathy showed me a story in the newspaper on a local Pez Collector.
To be honest I lost interest half way through it because it didn't mention Pez Outlaw.
Blah Blah Blah guy has a lot of Pez, isn't he weird.

The news story did though use quotes from Shawn Peterson as a sorce from Pez Corp.
I remember back in the 1990s when Shawn's folks would bring him to Pez Cons.
I wonder if Pez Corp knows what a good customer there employee was of Pez Outlaw.
Sorry just foolin around, I'm sure it's not a thing.

So much has changed in 15 years.
A new generation of product n collectors has come into the Pez Hobby.
Young people I used to sell to have gone mainstream n now work for the other side.
Wonder how that conversation goes when Pez Outlaw is mention at Pez Corp with Shawn.

Yes of course everything is about me/Pez Outlaw.
Until the movie is released, that's how it has to be.
Again, no apologies.

Somebody on ebay just asked.
Are you "The Pez Outlaw"?
Yes, this is Pez Outlaw.
There is only one.

I don't know what's come over me.

I just feel like breaking out n singing.

The trick to it is to just own it and move on.

Lets take the old jalopy out for a spin.

Pez Outlaw really is a great character with a tremendous amount of potential, but once again I find myself at a crossroads.
How do I gain visibility for the character?
After 25yrs I definitely go through periods where it feels like I'm just banging my head against a wall.

During that time I've gone from 47 to 72yrs old.
Lately old friends have been dying, so of course I'm searching inside myself for where did that 20yrs go.
Has it been worth it, was the bargain worth the loss of 20yrs?

I wonder about that almost every day now.
That said, I'm not sure I had the ability to do it different.
Now I wonder, How do I make that Big moment happen.

As it is it's been a very slow progression.
Writers, Producers & Hollywood Studious get interested,  but as of yet nothing I can bank beyond initial money.

When people start dying on you, you start hearing the clock tick.
A sense of urgency as the grains of sand pass through.
I really would like to Finnish this while I can still see it.

Creating/creation has always been at the core of my existence, it is my bliss.
Pez Outlaw is the biggest thing I've ever tried, I've once again bet everything on him.
Last time I bet everything we know how that worked out, but Pez Outlaw is mine so I think That the ice is a bit thicker on this one.

I also need Kathy to see that her Patience & Support paid off.
The only way I can really see that I'm not crazy is through her eyes.

Then again the only thing in life that's truly 50/50 are the ropes on a bale of hay.
After you cut n pull the 1st rope, unless you're a complete fool you know which way the knot is for the second pull. Trust me it matters.

My #1 goal for 2 decades is n has been to publish the Pez Outlaw book.
A Pez Outlaw Movie would be nice but to be honest what I really want is the book.
To my surprise I came very close in 2016-17 with Warner Brothers optioning the movie rights to Pez Outlaw.
An Oscar winning producer "Argo" worked a year on the script based on the double award winning long form story in Playboy Magazine.
For more on Pez Outlaw please read
This Michigan Farmer Made $4 Million Smuggling Rare Pez ... - Playboy
www.playboy.com/articles/pez-outlaw

Of course I was flattered that a big Hollywood producer tried to get a Pez Outlaw Movie made.
I gotta tell you though that my true disappointment when it fell through was that it took the book with it.
That said I'm not giving up, What else have I got to do?
I've got time, so I just keep pluggin along trying to generate interest in a Pez Outlaw Book.

Think about it though, a major Hollywood Studio thought the Pez Outlaw story had enough merit to put money on the table.
An Oscar winning Producer thought enough of the story to pay a writer for a year to work on a script.
Netflix, Amazon, Are You listening?

To be honest I don't know where they are at on the project anymore, but that doesn't change my determination to see this project to completion.
All of that was just another intriguing chapter in the life of Pez Outlaw.
I just continue as I have.

I know people think I'm nuts, at best.
I truly don't care.
I will try anything to gain exposure for the Pez Outlaw Project.
No idea is to crazy, which I know bothers some but to them I ask this question.
What brought you to the project in the first place?
It was the very things I'm continuing to do.
I cannot wait around like a tethered goat hoping n wishing.
The only way anything has ever happened with Pez Outlaw from day 1 of his life is if I act.

Do you think traveling around the world buying Pez Was an original idea?
No, but acting on the idea was.
Exploiting the idea to the breaking point was.
The insane, obsessive way I went at traveling the world buying n selling pez was what was different.
No one ever had nor is anyone today doing things like Pez Outlaw did.
That's what makes him different n that's what makes this The Pez Outlaw Story, GREAT!

After Pez Outlaw I hope to retire n just work on the farm taking care of the horses, because the horses n the dogs are my friends.

After Pez Outlaw, I intend to retire.

The title of this post is a private Joke between the Author Jeff Maysh n myself.

Oh right I guess not so private after that sentence?

Recently someone said to me, "You wrote about it".
Oh well then, It must be true.

A lot has been written about Pez Outlaw, most of it is true.

Recently I've met some new wonderful friends from California.
My new friends are very interested in everything that they can learn about the Pez Outlaw story.
Well I kinda love that so I've put them in touch with as many folks as I can so they hear all sides of the Pez Outlaw story.
That's where the subject of this post comes into play.

People internalize memory n perceptions of those memories very differently.
I'm beginning to believe that we each take snapshots with our minds n that those snapshots are a perception that digests the memory in a condensed mood if you will of the experience.
We bring ourselves n our life history to what we remember, so we percieve experiences differently.
Now i gotta tell you I'm kinda loving hearing some of how/what others remember seeing n in most cases they are so much better than my memories, because I was living it n remembering it from a completely different perspective.

It really gets back to other posts I've tried to write like ,
Are we who we think we are or are we who others see? #Netflix #pezoutlaw #Amazon

I must confess that my memory of The Life N Times Of Pez Outlaw are now beginning to get fuzzy.
I'm beginning to forget a lot of his life, Well for Pete's Sakes it was a lifetime ago, going on 25yrs now.
Which by no coincidence is why I wrote Pez Outlaw Diary and Notes From The Asylum, I knew that I would eventually forget almost all of it.
I know this because this has been my life's pattern, I just eventually move on n clear space for new memories.

I had to tell my new friends that just because I don't remember something/a story someone else has a vivid memory of does not mean that it didn't happen.
It just means that I might n most likely have forgotten it.
When gathering our memories we each gather different experiences in different ways.
What I may gather as the things That I found relevant n interesting will in all likelihood be different aspects of the same moment in time than you do.

My memories will be the show, the trip, was it a good presentation, was it a success.
Yours will be the experience, the fun, the imprint of you that day.
I've been told my 8yr old granddaughter does a killer impression of me, as in how grandpa come with sound effects n gestures, just funny as hell, but do I see myself that way?
The point being that that is the imprint on her mind of me n it is relevant.

Are We Who We Think We are or are we who others perceive us to be?
Internally we are one person to ourselves but I think more importantly we are who people around us remember us to be.

I believe the Pez Outlaw that God Willing is remembered will be the Pez Outlaw seen through the eyes of others.
He was who you saw, His story is the story you tell.
Pez Outlaw is your story, he belongs to you if you will have him.
I can only add one more perspective.

To me the true story of Pez Outlaw is the same struggle every American faces.
Born in 1951, it was a time when parents hoped that there children would do better than they did.
Hoping that there children's lives would not see the pain of "the Great Depression" n "World War 2".
The fear of the Atomic Bomb n Communism was the world that I grew up in.
Add to that I grew up in a time when personality disorders were not understood.
Hell they didn't even know what Dyslexia was, That was fun, being branded as slow, flunked a grade n eventually leading to dropping out of high school.

I struggled to fit in, find my place in this world when none of it made any sense at all to me'
I attempted to follow the path worn deep by those that preceded me, failing with every footstep.
A simple thing like being around people led to Alcohol n Drug addiction, today it's called self medicating.

I joined the Marine Corps, a 6yr enlistment during Vietnam to escape a life I knew was on the wrong path.
Here's the touchy part.
The methods n rigors of Marine Corps training brought all the Physiological problems that had been bubbling below the surface into full bloom.
A vegetable soup of isms (compulsive Obsessive n a bit bipolar/schizophrenic), I became a Psychiatrists retirement plan.
Instead of treatment the Marine Corp Branded me for life n cut me loose.
Yes this bothers me to this day.

2 yrs later Kathy took on the challenge of picking up the pieces, her brother Gerry accomplished what my family couldn't. On his word alone I got the job that would take care of my family for the next 25yrs.
I spent those years grateful but yearning for a dream I believed possible.

In 1994 I saw my shot at a crazy persons version of the American Dream.
Yes my version was unorthodox n borderline illegal, for a person with my background though pretty much the straight line I was destined to be on.
I achieved a dream beyond one I could have imagined, 4.5 million gross in 11yrs n world travel.
This yes was my Lottery story that lasted almost a decade, but not unlike the others it ended in tragedy n debt.

Now we get to the nut of things, the struggle back.
The commitment to a dream n goal when you are pretty much the only person on planet earth that believes it is possible.
In 1998/2000 my world ended followed by a 20yr gap, with me sitting here writing this to you.
Click your fingers n that's my last 2 decades gone.
I let one of my isms take charge, creating Pez Outlaw Diary, writing his story, Creating Notes From The Asylum. Then Promotion, Promotion n more Promotion.
Today the Pez Outlaw story has had way over 2 million views in one form or another WORLDWIDE, (I'm big in Argentina, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Romania etc).
A story was written about him in Playboy Magazine, every little boys dream.
Followed by a movie option, I believe it was with Warner Brothers picture, yes I've actually forgotten.
There have been n still are other offers.

To me the payoff on this whole Pez Outlaw story is a camera on him watching his story being filmed as a Hollywood Movie.
The work, The perseverance being paid in full with that one picture.

As you might have noticed in true schizophrenic fashion I see Pez Outlaw n myself as 2 separate n very different people, even though others see us as one.

This reader is just my take on Pez Outlaw n My story.
I have no problem with whatever story someone else might see n want to tell.

Thank You for your interest.

I took the path I was meant to travel n lived the life I was destined to live.

Pez Outlaw, On Behalf of The Voices In My Head #pezoutlaw

Please Watch My Emmy Winning Movie, The Pez Outlaw on Amazon Prime & Peacock. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Best actor at SXSW.

It's My Story.

ebay link to Pez Outlaw Collectibles.

I heard a crow talking yesterday. I stopped to listen, hoping it was good news.

As the majority shareholder in my sanity, I'd like to issue the following report to the other shareholders.

Your recent attempts at a hostile takeover have failed.

After a thorough examination by my imaginary Shrink, I appear to be having a lot of Anxiety right now.

Reality is a mutually agreed upon construct. To deviate from that compact is to become non-compliant, CRAZY.

I just finnished a board meeting with the voices in my head. Best I can figure the guy I left in charge is still running things. He did a lot of complaining, I just told him. DUDE, it's your problem not mine. Deal with it.

 Goodbye Reality

My biggest battle as a child was when I was forced to enter reality n try to percieve things as everyone else does.
That led to Alcaholism n drug abuse, just to cope.
Reality you got 69 years, now it's my turn.
I realized the other day that I lack curiousity.
I ignore telephones, someone comes to the door of the house, I don't necessarily answer or go to it.
I let the dogs answer the door, they seem to really enjoy it.
N I really don't check or ask about progress from my friends in California.
Kathy came into the office the other day, or rather she appeared n tapped my arm so I knew she was there. Kathy said "Man you really are in your own world".
I guess your n my realities are quite different. Mine has Cartoons n a country music soundtrack.
Like Weezie the horse n her magical Fairy friend in the woods.
I ignore reality, unless it amuses me, it's no longer a priority.

The Pez Outlaw Movie is on Netflix in the USA & on Amazon Prime in Canada Now.

Told Darlin Girl, I hear voice.
No Baby, not the ones in my head, these sound real.

Guy Goes to see the optomotrist.
Doctor says, Boy I haven't seen you in a while.
I answer, Yeah I had a real Bad 20yrs.
No regrets, I guess. Because everything that is happening today is a result of the work I did during that 20ys. Makes me wonder though, What kind of crime did I commit to get 20yrs.

Paranoid.

Do you remember a few or so years back when Pez Corp announced a Pez Animated movie was in the works. Sure you do, it was a bit after I signed a deal with Warner Brothers for a feature length Pez Outlaw Movie.
OK, got my dig in, now to the point.

Narcissist.

I believe that the MAJOR thing missing in Pez Corps idea was the Protagonist. You Know where I'm going. This movie idea needed Pez Outlaw as that Bad guy for lack of a better word. Somebody for the forces of Pez Corp to be plagued by racing around stirring up mayhem.
Art imitates life kinda thing.

There is a Trick To Crazy. Be quirky, eccentric or sympathetic crazy. Do not cross the line to annoying, tiresome, scary or evil crazy.

People lovingly refer to the above image as Zig-Zag.

To me it's me scratching between two realities.

The one you see n the one I see.

My character waits.

Redneck Madd Scientist #Netflix

I did my Redneck Madd Scientist Bit for the enviroment yesterday.

People " Laurie Svendsen" Bring me things to repurpose.
Yesterday was Paint. People buy to much paint for almost every job they have. 3 quarts will do it but cost the same as a gallon, well lets get the gallon. Problem is then you have a quart of paint on your shelf with 20 other partial cans for the next 10 or 20 years.

To be fare Laurie was cleaning out houses of people who have moved on n just needed something useful done with what has been left behind.

Enter your local Redneck Madd Scirntist.

I divided the partial cans of paint into 3 catagories.
Interior, Exterior n stainish.
3 of 5 gallon buckets, 1 for each
open cans n pour away.
Interior went really well, several shades of white become WHITE.

Exterior always seems to turn out Battleship grey.

Stains, now this is a very confusing catagory, it seems to include Stains, Lacer, Polys, n some oil base paints that would throw a wrench into Battleship grey exterior. Voala Brown, well sorta, but close enough.

Brownish stain/paint some trim on house if I get away with it.
Battleship grey, Round bale hay feeders.

Here's the big suprise Laurie, The interior white is on it's way to the Potterville Post office bathrooms.

We believe strongly in reuse/repurpose as the better form of recycling.
Forgive spelling, Spell check is on the Fritz.

Pez Outlaw, Rocks Float #pezoutlaw

Please Watch My Emmy Winning Movie, The Pez Outlaw on Amazon Prime & Peacock. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Best actor at SXSW.

It's My Story.

ebay link to Pez Outlaw Collectibles.

What an interesting n odd way to look at something. My guess is you clicked this post hunting for an enlightening metaphor.
Of course there is one but not today, today it's about the other things that give me joy.

Yes rocks float, to clarify in dirt.
Have you ever noticed how rocks seem to work there way up to the surface.
There's a point to this.

Over the last week I've been working on a kinda big project.
Moving a barn n creating a circle drive.
Barn was in a bog n smack in the middle of where I wanted to put the circle drive.

I'd put a large amount of rocks at the entrances to the barn.
Well if I'd left them there they'd have just work up n killed the mower.
So I dug them all out n used them as a base for the drive.

The project is going well, but it would go better if I had any money.
What I wouldn't give for 5 six inch 8ft fence posts, 6 of 12ft 4x4s n 6 sheets of 3/4 OSB.
Make do n increase the labor quotient.

Temp is about 80 now n the work has been brutal.
Chores, manure removal, getting hay, then the projects.
4 hrs to mow, then weed whacking, plus the gardens.

Yesterday was stump removal day, got 5 of them out, 3 to go.
Did I mention that I do this shit alone.
Well me the tractor n Billy Dog.

This morning I got up n to my surprise I felt pretty good.
Felt like crapp for about a week.
Just plain wore out.

When I was a child I played football in 9th n 10th grade.
Workouts began in August.
We're talking exercise till you puke workouts.

This spring has been that same kind of rough.
10 days ago I thought I was getting back in shape after winter.
Silly Rabbit.

The last week has been a whole new level of tired.
You push up to the line n hydrate.
Collapse n do it again the next day n the next day.

I know where the line is.
Muscles start cramping from fatigue.
You needed to stop half hr ago.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate.
I drink 48 oz of water in summer each day while I work.
I also drink 16 oz of Electric Lights liquid.

Electric lights is intentional so no comments.
I'll live in my world, you live in yours.
My ways more fun.

Then you wake up one morning n you don't feel to bad.
Actually feel kinda good.
I like work, it keeps the mind busy.

Anyway, Rocks Float.

Dirt

I hate to admit to you that lately I've been having fantasies about DIRT.
Big Lovely piles of DIRT that I can scoop n move around with my tractor.
Whom I kidding, I'm always having fantasies about DIRT.
Massive piles of Bank Run to move with my tractor.
Piles of crushed concrete n crushed limestone.
Shouldn't ask, but I will.
Is it normal to have dirt fantasies?

I think dirt is fun, working in Dirt is my form of meditation.
Lately those dreams have been an internal controversies about crushed concrete as a base topped with bankrun.
Pros n Cons.

My second dream summer would be to move bank run around the farm every day, all day.
Bank run is the gravel mix that the county puts on dirt roads.
I'd just have my guy at Felski's make a big pile, when he sees it's getting low, bring some more.

Here's the thing.
Rain brings mud, horses have well traveled areas.
The ground they use a lot gets awful messed up.
The plan is to create year round firm areas for them to walk on.
We had mud for about a week here in early February, then it flash froze, the ground became a pocked up mess.
Very hard on the horses to walk on, hard to drive the tractor on.

These well traveled areas by horses is also where they poop.
If I create firm ground, skimming the surface to remove the poo would also be easier.

My first dream summer was helping Larry build our big horse barn n Arena.
I enjoyed the work, plus it served as my reentry to a good work ethic.
During my Pez years I got soft n kinda citified.
I had to relearn how to put work boots n gloves on again, become useful to Kathy again.
Nothing shakes depression like really hard work.
It's just not possible to be depressed when you are bone tired with a sense of accomplishment.
If your depressed dig a hole, keep digging till you feel better, then bury it.

You wanna get your shit together, try following Larry around working.
Larry will wear your ass out, he'll still be going n he's a few years older'n me.

I wanted to write about the other man who influenced my work ethic, My Father.
My father was not a perfect man, but who among us is.
I was thinking about it last night, sometimes the people who judge others, honestly have no right.
Here's what I mean n I'm sorry if it offends, I'm trying to give perspective not offense.
There are people who lead an entire life removed from the harsher elements of every day life.
Example;
You buy all your meat from the store, you never killed n butchered your own meat.

You buy new cars, My dad never owned a new car n he fixed his own.
Dad once made one truck out of two very broke trucks.
Dad made a truck out of a blue 1956 ford station wagon.

You get your heat from the furnace.
Dad cut wood most of his adult life.
I cut wood for 25 years.
My son Josh currently cuts wood.

Your sewer goes out a pipe n your done.
My dad dug his own septic system and repaired it as both my son n I do.
I've been covered in human shit a few times n I'm a guy who doesn't like shaking hands.
Let's just say serious procedures were followed to regain cleanliness and clothing was thrown away.
Irregardless of phobias a job needed doin so I did what I had to do.

The point is some folks make it through life without living in the harder side of it.
Living a harder life is not a choice for some of us.
The hard life requires the ability to do hard things n if you didn't or don't live on the harder side of life, please refrain from judging those who must.

I no longer judge my father, I have lived some of the life he did now.
Instead I forgive his shortcomings n focus on the good n that was his ability n willingness to work very hard for us.
My father accepted the burden of some pretty nasty jobs, things I've become familiar with as an adult.
My father was a good man with a very good work ethic.
I find I'm more like my father than I thought as a young man.
Love? But I definitely respect him.
In life he paid for his sins, I choose to only remember the good.

I believe in hard work.
Hard work cleanses the soul.
I've told you that in June I will be 65 n I want to retire.
Retire to me is that I go out at 10am every day, fire up the tractor n work till 7pm.
Not just the tractor though, repair fix n create as needs must.
Basically lead a real n useful life to those I love.

It's not good enough to realize you were wrong, a real man states it publicly to correct the record.
By the same token, if your not wrong, you stand your ground Pez Corporation.
Rudy dog would never forgive me if I wimped out, so Pez Corp we continue to the end.
As much as I'd like this to be over Pez Corp, I wouldn't respect myself if I let it go.
Until the last dog barks Pez Corp n the dirt is thrown on.
If need be I will fight what Pez Corp did by targeting n destroying my life to n with my very last breath.  I will not yield on this.
15 years says my word on this is to be believed.
Sometimes even reluctantly, being a man means you fight when absolutely necessary.
Pez Corp, I will use the truth as my way of fighting.

Sorry for that, felt the need.
Going out to start the Tractor up.

After Pez Outlaw, I intend to retire.
