I think that when we are dead & gone we will be remembered by the way we touched other peoples lives.
So wave at your neighbors, It cost you nothing to be kind.
To avoid any misunderstanding. I have been clean & sober for over 50yrs. I do not use marjuana in any form or drink alcahol. To that point no drugs or alcahol are even allowed on our farm.
I lack the ability to deal with any interaction with that type of thing.
People should do as they please, God bless them. Just not on our farm, It is very bad for me.
I try very hard not to take positions on things here on my facebook page & this is by no means a condemnation of others personal behavior. Just a personal clarification. I need to make my stand with the walking wounded.
Due to mental health issues I self medicated for 5 years when I was a child. I was a drunk & used every drug that I could lay my hands on. I spent most days in that period of time drunk or high on drugs.
Everything from smoking dope to Meth & Heroin. I also did a ton of LSD. I would not say that I profitted in any way from any of it. If anything it made my mental health issues worse. It took me 20yrs to finally get a handle on my issues.
To me drugs & alcahol are just a detour that does not address the mental health issues that I needed to address. It just puts it off to another day.
For me, I would wake up from being High & then have two problems to deal with. Mental health plus what I did or said while High. My mind became more fragile because of Alcahol & drug use. I still deal with my Demons every day, it does not go away. I am not proud of those years.
It is very important for me & to me to speak about these things. There are a lot of us out here & no one should feel alone.
We smile, We try & We hope for a better tomorrow.
The fact that we are here means we are meant to do this.
So to my point, Please do not Glorify the use of drugs or alcahol on my page. Such posts will be deleted.
Other than all that, God Love You & do as you please. It is none of my business.
Also Please forgive me. I do not join groups.
Like Groucho Marx said. "I will not join any group that would have me as a member."
Ilona Stevens & I once had a discusion after I said that Mental health isues get better. That's a hard one.
The Demons stay but how you handle them does improve with work.
One big one is the Anger Management. For over 2 decades my internal anger at what I was dealing with was a definite issue. I wanted to blame something or somebody & was hunting for the why.
It takes the final understanding that nobody is causing this, it just is.
My anger was never physical but it was a bit loud.
The big difference now is that I no longer get angry at all. I accept the frustration & depression. I ride it out. When I feel it coming I start my prep to cope with it.
Also & this is a big one. I quit swearing. Cursing when your mental health issues flare up is an escalator. Which just makes it worse. Calm acceptance & shut your mouth, nobody needs to hear it when your mind is struggling. You will emerge from the bottom & you will not have added additional problems to regret.
So I guess what I meant was. It does get better as you get older in that you know better how to deal with your Mental Health issues.
I will never forget the people I have met who are struggling with there Mental Health issues.
One that stands out. While we were promoting the movie there was the young woman I met after the movie had shown. She was crying & in a rough spot.
I was supposed to get out front for Q&A, but I imediately paused the world. Nothing was more important than her in that moment.
First I always hug people who need a hug. Then we talk. I told her to avoid the things that trigger her issues.
Her wife was standing calmly while we talked & she cried. My final advice to her was, Your wife is your strength when you need it. Let her help & guide you.
Here's a hint. I live in my fantacy world. I let mom deal with reality. It's the unspoken deal that we have made. Bryan Storkel said that the Pez Outlaw Music video really wasn't my actual story. In truth it was more my story than the real story. I mean, I wrote it in a blog post called "The Pez Outlaw Cartoons." #pezoutlaw
In short. There is the real world & then there is the way that I see the world. Thank you very much, but I prefer my version of real. It is way more fun.
We who deal with mental health issues may not get to be happy like normal people. Happy always means that the Dark is coming. Middle is what I strive for. But we are allowed Funny.
Mom says that I am not funny. I say, But The Pez Outlaw is. That guy cracks me up.
Sock Puppet Guy. MASH.
Here is another hint.
There will always be people who do not like you & want to see you fall. Do not give them the time of day. They can not & are not allowed into your world. They just do not exist.
